Challenges

Limits of manual counter-UAS

Modern strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) pose a serious threat to critical military and civilian infrastructure — airports, power plants and grid substations, industrial facilities. Traditional counter-UAS methods require the operator to continuously control the interceptor drone manually, which leads to:
Time loss
While the operator manually flies the interceptor towards the target, the hostile UAV has time to approach the protected site.
Lengthy training
Preparing a qualified operator takes significant time.
Rapid battery drain
A non-optimal flight path wastes energy that may not be enough to complete the interception.
Risks of Radio Jamming
When operating under radio jamming, the video link can be lost, which often results in the loss of the UAV.
High operator workload
The operator must both maintain target tracking and manually fly the drone at the same time.
Limits of Manual Control
Manual control does not always bring the interceptor drone into visual contact with the target.
Our Approach

Intelligent guidance to the target

Enlock System is an intelligent solution that automatically guides the interceptor drone to the hostile UAV. The operator only initiates the launch, while the system itself calculates the optimal route and brings the drone into the target engagement zone.

System Composition

  • Operator's work computer in a shockproof case, with special software and a 24-inch screen
  • Ground control station with antenna mast device
  • Fixed-wing interceptor UAV
Interceptor UAV characteristics:
  • Maximum speed: 300 km/h
  • Flight duration: up to 40 minutes
  • Camera: day / thermal imaging
  • Interceptor drone range: 20 km
  • Flight altitude: up to 5 km

How It Works

Interception Process

Enlock System is a transition from manual control to intelligent automation, enabling more effective protection of critical assets against UAV threats.

Threat detection
The system receives data on the enemy drone from its own radar, surveillance systems, or the airspace monitoring network.
Automatic computation
The software instantly analyzes the target’s position and trajectory, the interceptor’s position, and calculates the optimal intercept course.
Intercept launch
The operator sees the situation on the screen and makes the decision to launch.
Automatic guidance
The drone flies along the optimal trajectory to the intercept point; the operator monitors the process on the map without manual control.
Visual contact
The system brings the drone into a zone where the operator obtains visual contact via the onboard camera.
Operator takeover
If necessary, the operator switches to manual control for the final interception.
Key Advantages

Interception Control System

  • Higher intercept success rate: increases the percentage of airborne targets successfully engaged.
  • Time and resource savings: reduces time-to-target by a factor of 2.5–3, the drone reaches the target with a higher remaining battery charge.
  • Ease of use: system deployment takes less than 5 minutes, operator training time is significantly reduced.
  • Minimal workload on personnel: automation performs the core tasks.
  • High reliability: operates even under GPS jamming, provides up to 2 hours of autonomous operation, supports 360° interception from any direction, and allows the drone to return home even if the video link is lost.
  • High flexibility: integrates with existing airspace monitoring systems, is compatible with multiple radar types, and can operate with interceptor drones from different manufacturers.
